In the war between Wu and Yue, Fu Chai ( played by Zheng Jiaying ) defeated the Kingdom of Yue with the help of Wu Zixu, but did not kill the King of Yue Gou Jian ( played by Xie Tianhua ) ; Gou Jian was imprisoned in Wu under the guidance of Fan Li ( played by Zhu Xiaotian ) , and won rebirth with a humble attitude. Xi Shi’s ( played by Ying Er ) father died on the battlefield, Fan Li rescued Xi Shi, and the two knew each other and fell in love. In order to help Gou Jian restore his country, Fan Li reluctantly gave Xi Shi to Wu. In order to fulfill Fan Li’s heroic ambition, Xi Shi entered the Wu Palace and gradually gained Fu Chai’s favor. Fu Chai built a lot of buildings for Xi Shi, and went north to attack Qi, breaking the pattern of relying on the north and facing the south. Fan Li assisted Gou Jian with all his strength, allowing Gou Jian to step on the road to restoration from a king of a fallen country. After losing Xi Shi, Fan Li was increasingly swallowed by regret. Fan Li won the beauty, and on a small boat in Taihu Lake, Fan Li embraced Xi Shi, who was playing the zither, and left together.
